Named in honor of Norse goddesses Freya (or Frigg), deities of love, fertility, beauty, and magic. In Roman tradition, the day corresponds to Venus, representing feminine energy, rest, receptivity, and creation. Represents the 13 annual lunar cycles (and approximately 13 menstrual cycles a year), symbolizing feminine power, intuition, creation, death, and rebirth.
